Report Card / Parent-Teacher Conferences
It is hard to believe it is December. The students and staff have been busy reading, writing, thinking, creating, inquiring, sharing and growing!
This is the time of year when a written report is sent home showing your child’s progress thus far in the school year. In conjunction with this written report, is a Parent-Teacher Conference. This is an opportunity to discuss your child’s strengths and challenges. I have shared my thoughts about these tools used to communicate with parents and hope they are helpful.
My office looks fabulous due to the wonderful art creations on display. During the past couple of months, I have enjoyed art work from Mrs. Marchildon’s first grade students (Take a Line for a Walk) and Mrs. Power’s fifth grade students (Monochromatic Art in Blue), created under the direction of Mrs. Greenwald. Below are a few examples of the Monochromatic art work done by some fifth graders.
The students and staff have experienced some wonderful Curriculum Enrichment programs this fall. Thank you to PTO for your generous financial support and donations of time, which provide these great experiences for our students. Hopefully you have been reading the wonderful, informative articles appearing in the Dover newspapers about each of these events.

Welcome Back to School!
We certainly had an interesting start to our 2011-12 school year. This may be the first time that a lot of schools in Massachusetts started the year off with one or more “snow days” in August! I have lots of information to share with you about what’s new at Chickering School this year. We have new building procedures, new academic programs / activities, and new personnel. We also have some great activities returning this year. Please listen to the Podcast, link below, to learn about all the great things happening at school and the programs your child(ren) may be interested in joining.
We had a Back-to-School Assembly and sang our Welcome song to our new Kindergarten students and new students and staff. We had some wonderful 5th grade musicians who accompanied us with our singing. We heard from
Superintendent Spriggs and Officer Harry about the many adventures caused by Tropical Storm Irene. Dr. Reinemann reminded us about the Blue Ticket Program and we set our goal of earning 6,000 tickets this year with our good deeds. We ended the assembly by singing our new Chickering song written by last year’s Student Council members. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year together. Dr. Nugent
